When we arrived on the site the existing landscape was over grown and did not take full advantage of the site features or amazing view. The intention of our design was to develop the sense of entry to the home, create interest and take advantage of key view points in the garden by emphasizing the qualities of the existing topography. The steep hillside made the installation difficult but the end product was more than we could have expected. The landscape was awarded first place in the Xeriscape Category by the California State Landscape Contractors Association San Francisco Bay Area Chapter Trophy Awards and honorable mention in the Xeriscape Category by the 2006 California Landscape Contractors Association State Trophy Awards.
